Story

An unstable environment affected many families on Arkania and forced some to leave it behind. Zarick's parents, Ghomjah and Haiye Adar, left the planet after a short time to find a suitable home to raise their child. They came across Onderon. While living on Onderon, the young Near-Human became well-acquainted with violence, death, and the law. As an escape, Zarick and his local delinquent friends formed a gang they called the "Bomb Star Clan." As a group, the children fought against criminals in the city as a means of escaping mediocrity. The Bomb Star Clan even adopted a code to keep its members organized. The virtuous gang carried out deeds that led them into trouble with the authorities. The Onderonian Guard depised the gang's brutal methods of stopping lawbreakers, so they made efforts to stop the gang. Zarick and his peers were arrested and sent to a juvenile detention for their careless actions against criminals. He and his friends spent two years at the detention grounds where they would learn from their decisions over time. When he was released for good behavior, Zarick started to gain a reputation as a thug from the public, so he changed for the better and even encouraged his friends to do the same. They vowed to pursue knowledge and put their time to good use with study and personal development. Zarick and his Arkanian father, Ghomjah Senbuo Adar, ventured across the galaxy to several planets, becoming accustomed to unique environments and cultures. Kashykkk was a spot of interest. It served as a training routine where Zarick and his father spent their time hunting large beasts and collecting raw components, which they later conducted experiments. Tatooine was another zone of interest in terms of survival training, due to its intense surroundings and temperature. At times, the father and son encountered peril. Zarick and his father embarked on daring journeys, ones in which they engaged in combat, established alliances, and made uncommon discoveries.

SWRP - Memories

Young Za'rick and his mother, Jedi Knight Haiye Kuria Adar.

As time progressed, Zarick became more versatile and even discovered his Force-sensitivity. His mother had asked him if he was interested in training as a Padawan in the Order on Yavin IV. The child declined the offer because of his indifference toward the Jedi doctrine, though he read a plethora of Jedi-oriented tomes. Later, Haiye Adar was summoned by the K.O.J. Council to accept a dangerous mission, aided by a team of Knights, against Sith starfighters hovering over the planet. Ghomjah secretly followed her worryingly. Haiye proved to be a keen pilot against tactical starfighters; her Miraluka perception in the Force ensured her team's survival. Young Zarick received word of his mother's mission from an anonymous source and traveled in one of his father's ships to track her down. The Sith starfighters were only a minor threat to Haiye and her strike force. However, the Sith were assisted by Mandalorian mercenaries, cloaked, packing ion weaponry. Their ion cannons disabled Haiye and her strike force. Helpless, they could do nothing more than watch the Sith bombard them with blaster fire, eradicating them in a fiery blaze. Just arriving to witness this, Zarick became enraged and fired on every enemy vessel in sight, accompanied by his father. The ship he stole from his father had a powerful offense. Eleven of the fifteen mercenary starfighters were destroyed while the other four fled. Zarick completed his mother's mission and stopped the orbital threat over Yavin IV.

Survival

Years on Yavin IV

Zarick Adar (early years) as a rogue Gray-Jedi on Yavin IV.

A couple of years passed after the incident. Zarick carried on his father's role as a hunter and scientist for a short time, traveling solo. At other times, he tried to pursue a career to his liking, but his deep-seated thoughts kept him from doing so. One day, he walked around town on Onderon and came across an Imperial Navy placard attached to the side of a market building. The poster portrayed the valiance of Imperial troops and a motto interpreting justice that the Empire promised to offer. Zarick was very oblivious of the Empire's notoriety because of his lack of interest in galactic politics and happenings. Even so, he submitted an application to the nearest recruitment center in his neighborhood. He was age fifteen, yet his healthy appearance qualified him as a soldier. He was admitted to Troop Squadron and endured basic training for three grueling months. Not every recruit survived basic training, but Zarick persevered.

The Imperial military instituted high-risk tasks to all of its subordinates. The only highlight for Zarick was aerial confrontation. The battles became more intense each time the soldiers engaged the enemy. One by one, Zarick and his division were bombarded. He received a rain of blaster fire and was ejected from the battle, fortunate enough to live. Explosions and blaster fire lit up the dark void of space. As the battle continued from afar, Zarick drifted worked on repairing his TIE Oppressor's engine hastily before the pirates located and finish him. Repairs were a minor success, and he drifted to the closest planet nearby to look for help - Yavin IV. Residents from below watched the TIE Fighter dock by the river. The local authorities approached Zarick as he jumped out of the cockpit. They recognized his Stormtrooper armor and escorted him to a detention center for questioning. He was released after a thorough explanation. The Jedi sensed a deep ambivalence growing in Zarick, questioning whether he was completely devout to the Empire. In all certainty, he replied, "I pledge no allegiance to a such a dominion," and discard his armor. All residents in the hall smiled upon his honesty. The Jedi showed the warmest hospitality and provided him food, bath, and new sets of clothes. Meanwhile, the TIE Fighter was investigated by a team and received a transmission from it. The message came from Zarick's fleet admiral, saying they tracked him. He was disbanded from the Imperial Navy for associating with Jedi. Zarick returned to the battered vessel and remarked, "The Empire shall fall!"

One day, Zarick decided to visit the old temple where his mother's Order resided across the river. Instead, six rogue Force-users occupied the old, ruined temple as their territory. They originally intended to mug the young Near-Human and dump his body in the river, but they failed to do so when Zarick fought back. The gang's leader had something special in mind; the gang's middle-aged boss was more spiritually keen than his associates and did not believe his encounter with Zarick was a coincidence. In time, this band of rogue Force-users befriended him and gave him a nickname after initiating him into their group. They called him "Dusk" because of his blue Jedi tunic and dark complexion. Each of them referred to one another with a special nickname. The leader was a tall, clever Human male called "Neeso," age thirty-four. He helped Zarick establish a connection to the Force when evidence of the boy's Force-sensitivity arose at their first encounter. They gave Zarick time to master the rudiments of the Force and set up the "Seven Trials of Courage" for him to put such skills to the test. All together, these rogues of the Force embarked and fought intense battles with the Sith who invaded the place every now and then. About a year later, many rogue Jedi were killed in action, including Neeso's group. He and Zarick evaded the deadly Sith Lords and set traps for them. They found themselves on the run with the Sith following them. The two survivors used their wits and defeated the Sith with elaborate traps and explosives. A masked Sith Master stood as the last threat to them. Two rogue Jedi against one Sith Master of the Force made no difference. At the outcome of the three-way duel, Neeso was caught off-guard, impaled from a quick thrust of the lightsaber, and was thrown over a precipice.

Zarick watched in shock, completely outmatched, until his shock quickly turned to rage. He raised his electric blade and charged foolishly at the Sith Master, blinded by anger. The strength and speed of the first three strikes caught the Sith Master off balance and the last strikes cut off the Sith Master's left leg and arm. Zarick approached the injured Sith Master to finish her off, but in retaliation, she fired a wave of Force-Lightning and sent him over a precipice while controlling the electric current through his body. Zarick fell into the depths of the Yavin forest. In a stroke of luck, a large tree stopped his long descent. After four minutes, he slipped out of the tree and landed unconscious to the ground.

The Potentium

Five hours passed since Zarick lied unconcious, burned and broken, under the trees until a mysterious stranger discovered him. It was very auspicious for a common stranger to come along and help someone in the deep forests of Yavin. Nevertheless, he took Zarick aboard a ship and set course into the Unknown Regions. The ship touched down on a mysterious planet. No one was to be found in sight, even from the view of the landing pad to the buildings nearby. The stranger left a short while and came back with a metal tray with which he placed the battered Zarick into, rushing him to a medical facility. Even the medical center was empty. The stranger examined the his injuries and popped the dislocated leg and wrist bones back into place before setting him in a healing tank. Two hours passed while submerged in the Bacta tank and Zarick recuperated from the burns. The mysterious rescuer drained the tank, helped him out, and claimed to be a Knight of the Potentium Order of Zonama Sekot. The Potentium Knight was revealed as Christopher Beck. Beck escorted Zarick to a meditation spot atop a large hill and approached other residents there. They introduced themselves to one another. He met Master Flint Mokeev, Magister Salene Lusch, and Potentium Knight Toad Freck for the first time.

Life on the lush planet Zonama Sekot, though temporary, was an opportunity for Zarick to continue his training and increase his latent potential in the Force. Toad Freck selected Zarick as an apprentice and taught him disciplines of the Potentium Code. Zarick was put on a strict training regimen and faced a series . A year later, the apprentice was tested by the Council and became a Knight. After receiving the title, he left the planet of Zonama and sought his childhood home on Onderon. It was afterward that the Knight was contacted by his father, Ghomjah Adar, who discovered his son's whereabouts from a reliable source. The two agreed to meet at the postern of a large government building. While Zarick made his way to the building, he encountered his younger brother, Gourah Adar. Gourah was gladdened to see his long lost sibling and accompanied him to where their father waited. The three reunited.

Experiences

On Patrol

Zarick departing Coruscant.

Before Zarick became a disciple of the Force and a member of the P.G.A., he was an ace pilot. Piloting has offered him countless experiences through his exploration of space and aerial combat. He was also a member of the Imperial Navy stationed on Bastion, where he gained such piloting ability. As a Potentium Knight, Zarick experienced his full share of adventure when he was assigned missions alongside powerful allies such as Ashram Starkiller, Cobalt Ra'ann, Ford Potez, Han the Amaran, Nina the Amaran healer, 501st Clone Officer Marcel Dowding, 333rd Clone Lieutenant "Green" (Bakura Senator Jendon Horten), and others.

SL - Duel

A duel between Darth Twilight and Zarick.

Zarick made common enemies throughout his youth, which includes the Onderonian Royal Guard and the most notorious of organizations known to the galaxy. The Empire became his first prominent foe after he discarded his armor and destroyed his TIE Oppressor on Yavin IV, denouncing his allegiance. He has had a fair amount of encounters with the Crimson Blade Sith as a Potentium Knight. They were a unity of Dark-Jedi who broke all ties with the Empire some time ago. Crimson Blade ensnared Zarick's cousin, Allen Stonesoul, and pitted the two against one another. Allen unmercifully defeated Zarick upon their first and second duel. The third time, however, Allen displayed compassion. He tried to convert Zarick to the Sith ideology via a dark mind controlling technique after a brief pause in swordplay. It did not phase Zarick; he spent two months after the second duel fortifying every defense he possessed. Allen lost his composure over this and shot waves of lightning at him, blinded by rage. Zarick redirected the waves with little effort and struck down the arrogant Sith at last. Zarick approached the injured Sith not to deliver the death blow, but to save him. Unbeknown to both fighters, Allen's master watched the entire duel undetected. The grim man applauded Zarick's performance, kneeling down to retrieve his beaten apprentice whilst stating, "I will take him back to the temple and execute him myself." Zarick objected and chased the Sith all the way back to Jaratenge. The promise was fulfilled, and

The People's Galactic Alliance Saga

The Revenant Armada, whom had operated under Admiral Takaki, made quick progress in their efforts of galactic control, oppressing cities throughout the planetary system. The People's Galactic Alliance, the former Republic Liberation Front, vowed to defend all peoples in the face of adversity. The Revenant Armada became a prominent enemy of the PGA in addition to the Galactic Empire and the Imperial Remnant. Promising volunteers, one after another, stepped forth to fight for the Republic. One of these hopefuls was Zarick Adar. In his knighthood on Zonama, Zarick overheard the countless exploits of the PGA and its forefather, Selkisto Horten. The tales piqued Zarick's interest on mainstream happenings in the galaxy. One day, while on a visit to see his father on Bakura, the stories he heard were confirmed. A violent skirmish between several Revenant troops and five PGAF troopers erupted on the street. Zarick and Ghomjah, former Commander of the Bakuran Royal Guard, took part in the battle alongside the PGAF. They witnessed the valiance in the Marines' offense against Revenant troops attempting to infiltrate the Royal Palace. The PGA troops achieved their victory. Zarick was inspired by what had happened and all he learned, ultimately seeking involvement in the Republic's struggle. He inexplicably resigned from the Potentium Order and headed off, armed with knowledge from his past services. Within time, he was interviewed by PGAF Recruiter Gene Vaniva and underwent basic training for two months. It is unknown as to whether he became a full-fledged Marine. As a sentinel of Nova Squad, however, he partook in risky operations routinely whilst learning to eliminate fear and doubt. Actual coverage of the PGA can be found here
