History
Zarick Adar (pronounced 'zah-rik' 'ah-DAR') was a Force-sensitive male Arkanian-Human who was born on Arkania and raised on Onderon. He was a citizen of the People's Galactic Alliance and supported the Republic against well-known threats across the galaxy as a PGAF soldier. Prior to that, he served as a knight of the Potentium Followers on Zonama Sekot.

Onderon
Onderon
Environmental instabilities on Arkania caused many families to leave the planet behind. Zarick's parents, Ghomjah and Haiye Adar, settled on Onderon to raise their child. The father, a medical engineer, mostly supported Zarick while the mother tended to her duties as a Jedi Knight. While growing up on Onderon, the young Near-Human became acquainted with common violence and the law. An example was when he and a group of delinquents formed a gang they called the "Bomb Star Clan." Before the clan's formation, they and many others were regularly terrorized by criminals stalking the neighborhood. As a group, these youths brutally punished criminals, fully clad in black uniforms that shrouded their appearances. Their charismatic human founder, Daniel Morosun, led them on these escapades.

Environmental instabilities on Arkania caused most of its inhabitants to leave the planet behind. Zajah's parents, Ghomjah and Haiye Adetera, settled on Iziz, Onderon as a decent environment to raise their child, despite a few societal inconveniences. While growing up on Onderon, he became acquainted with common violence and the law, an example of which was when he and a group of delinquents formed a gang they called the "Savage Stars." Before the group's formation, they and many others were regularly terrorized by criminal activity. As a group, the youths punished criminals, clad in black uniforms shrouding their appearances. Their charismatic founder was a human named Daniel Morosun, who led them on these escapades.

The gang eventually roused the authorities. The Onderonian Royal Guard tried to catch and identify who the members were but Morosun and his gang eluded them well; they only operated at night. However, the gang was soon busted by a double agent during a special operation outside the guard tower, against the crooked Royal Guard Commander. The guardsmen prepared for Bomb Star Clan's arrival and stunned them with flash grenades. Each member fled different directions with their vision clouded. Zarick was the first to be arrested; his eyes were extremely sensitive to the intense light of the flash grenades, thus, he didn't escape very far. The gang spent their days at the detention grounds, though Zarick and Morosun were fortunate enough to be released earlier on account of good behavior.

Zajah and the gang eventually roused the authorities. The Onderonian Royal Guard tried to identify who the members were, though the gang eluded them well, only operating at night. However, the gang was compromised during a special operation outside the guard tower against the crooked Royal Guard Commander. The gang spent their days at the detention grounds. Free on release of good behavior, the public regarded them as thugs, and in reaction, Zajah opted to better himself. With his sights set, he traveled with his father to many systems and became accustomed to unique environments and cultures. On Kashykkk in particular, they braved the deadly territories of wild beasts while collecting raw components which they later conducted beneficial experiments.

Mother
The public regarded them as thugs, and in reaction, the boys put their time to good use with study and personal development. And, with his baby brother Gourah being highly impressionable, Zarick opted to be a suitable role model for his baby brother. Haiye forbade him from leaving Onderon after hearing about his trouble with the law, but Ghomjah argued that the detention grounds served their son enough punishment. Once free, he traveled with his father across the galaxy and became accustomed to unique environments and cultures. Kashykkk was a spot of interest; it was a routine where the two hunted beasts and collected raw components with which they later conducted beneficial experiments. Yavin IV was another zone of interest, as Haiye Adar fulfilled her duties there as a Jedi Knight.

As time progressed, Zajah educated himself plentifully and even discovered his latent abilities in the Force through his mother. She offered to train him, which he refused, indifferent toward Jedi matters. However, his mother was the only Jedi who intrigued him; not only was she an assertive negotiator, she was also a gentle soul who had a penchant for botany and exotic flowers. On one fateful night, Haiye was summoned by the Council to accept a dangerous mission, aided by a team of Knights, against Sith starfighters hovering over the planet. Haiye proved to be a keen pilot against tactical star fighters due to her strong perception.

Zajah received word of the orbital threat looming above the planet and anxiously rushed off to support his mother. The Sith starfighters proved a minor threat to Haiye and her strike force. However, the Sith were assisted by Mandalorian mercenaries, cloaked and packing ion weaponry. Their ion cannons disabled Haiye and her strike force, leaving them helpless and bombarded with blaster fire, destroying them in a fiery blaze. Arriving to witness his mother's demise, Zajah angrily open-fired, later accompanied by his father. They helped the Jedi overcome the orbital threat over Yavin IV, but not without great loss.

As time progressed, Zarick became more versed in his education and even discovered his Force sensitivity. His mother asked him if he was interested in training as a Padawan of KOJ. He refused because of his indifference toward Jedi, even though he studied a a number of their holocrons. Haiye was the only Jedi who astounded Zarick. Not only was she an assertive negotiator on the job, she was also a gentle soul who cared for others. On one fateful night, Haiye was summoned by the Council to accept a dangerous mission, aided by a team of Knights, against Sith starfighters hovering over the planet. Haiye proved to be a keen pilot against tactical star fighters, as her strong perception in the Force ensured her team's survival. Young Zarick received word of his mother's mission from the Council and ran off to track her down via starfighter. The Sith starfighters were only a minor threat to Haiye and her strike force. However, the Sith were assisted by Mandalorian mercenaries, cloaked, and packing ion weaponry. Their ion cannons disabled Haiye and her strike force, leaving them helpless, and they could do nothing more than watch the Sith bombard them with blaster fire and destroy them in a fiery blaze. Just arriving to witness this, Zarick angrily open-fired on the enemy, later accompanied by his father. Eleven of fifteen mercenary starfighters were destroyed while the others withdrew. Zarick completed his mother's mission from the Council and stopped the orbital threat over Yavin IV.

Zarick's father received a job as security for the monarchy on Bakura and was rarely around to travel with his son anymore. It left him alone for a while, but his urges for adventure kept him searching for something new to try. One day on Onderon, Zarick walked around town and came across an Imperial Navy placard on the side of a market building. The poster portrayed the valiance of Imperial troops and a motto interpreting justice that the Empire promised to offer. Zarick was already aware of the Empire's notoriety, but it didn't prevent him from joining. He went to the nearest recruitment center and was screened, then attended the Imperial Naval Academy and furthered his education through the Imperial Naval College, tackling the basics of combat, naval operations, and drilling until it was etched into his memory.

A few months passed after the incident on Yavin IV. Zajah's father received a job as security for the monarchy on Bakura and was rarely around to travel with him anymore. It left him alone for a while, but his urges for adventure kept him searching for something new. On a hot summer afternoon, Zajah walked around town and came across an Imperial Navy placard on the side of a market building. The poster portrayed the valiance of Imperial troops and a motto interpreting justice that the Empire promised to offer. Although aware of the Empire's notoriety, he wasn't discouraged from joining. He went to the nearest recruitment center and was screened, then attended the Imperial Naval Academy and furthered his education through the Imperial Naval College where he tackled the basics of combat, naval operations, and drilling.

A few years of basic training served Zarick well within the Imperial Military. He proved to be an exceptional pilot, which the stern Admiral Adrian Ganton occasionally applauded him for. Admiral Ganton was a battle-hardened workaholic who lead his squadron on deadly operations, forty light starships or so, against pirate hoards lingering near Imperial-protected worlds, and overtime, the battles intensified each time the pirates doubled in number. Zarick and the starfleet were bombarded by rains of blaster fire on one fateful operation. Black Sun pirates gathered in aggressive packs and blasted Imperial fighters away from the battle. Zarick was fortunate enough to survive amongst all the explosions and blaster fire lighting up the void of space. As the battle continued from afar, Zarick drifted while attempting to repair his TIE Oppressor's engine before the pirates could locate and finish him. Repairs were a minor success, and he drifted away in regard to his own life to the closest planet nearby: Yavin IV. Residents below watched the TIE Fighter dock by the river. The local authorities approached Zarick as he jumped from the cockpit, recognized his Stormtrooper armor, and escorted him to a holding cell for questioning.

The Jedi sensed doubt growing in Zarick, questioning whether he was completely devoted to the Empire. They elaborated on the Empire's reputation, its predominant origin, and its goal of bringing Sith rule to the galaxy. His reply to this was, "I no longer pledge allegiance to such authority," and he discarded his Stormtrooper armor. Everyone in the hall smiled on his choice. The Jedi showed him the warmest hospitality and provided him food, bath, and new sets of clothes. After, he and a team investigated the battered TIE Fighter. They received an incoming transmission from Admiral Ganton. Ganton addressed the disloyalty he heard from Zarick over the active transmitter not confiscated by the Jedi, and was labeled an outlaw of the Galactic Empire. Zarick gave his reply into the comm, "Hear this loud and well, Ganton! No longer will I be bound to the deceitful Empire! It shall fall!" Afterward, he reached under the cockpit and grabbed a lightfoil, with which he ignited and violently slashed at the craft until it was reduced to large fragments.

"The Savages"
Spring soon hit, and Zarick decided to visit the old temple across the river. Six rogue Force-users occupied an old, ruined temple as their territory. They intended to mug him and dump his body in the river but failed to do so when Zarick fought back. The gang's leader realized his potential and did not believe their encounter with Zarick was a coincidence. In time, this band of rogue Force-users befriended him and initiated him as their seventh member. They called him "Dusk" because of his blue tunic and dark complexion. As a group, they were nicknamed "The Savages" by local Jedi on account of their hostile behavior. Their leader was a tall, clever Human male called "Neeso,", a supposed master of the Force. He strengthen Zarick’s connection to the Force and allowed him time to master basic techniques. The rogues soon set up the "Seven Trials of Courage" as his final test. All together, these seven rogues fought intense battles with persistent Sith visitors.

Neeso's group was eventually wiped out after a widespread battle began between the Jedi and Sith invaders. Neeso and Zarick evaded the Sith by setting elaborate traps during their escape. The two survivors lured their pursuers to minefields they set to keep trespassers away from their hideout, killing them instantly. They dusted off the minions hunting them, but their strong connection to the Force attracted an experienced Sith Master. She called out to them, enticing in appearance and voice, proposing they join forces with her. Neeso and Zarick sensed deception in her words. It prompted them to refuse her offer, with which she replied, "Fine. You will suffer the consequences for refusing me!" All three removed their cloaks, activated their lightsabers, and battled furiously. At the outcome of the three-way duel, Neeso was caught off-guard, impaled by a quick thrust and tossed aside.

Shocked, Zarick yelled to the wounded Neeso but received no reply. He raged, retrieved his slain friend's lightsaber, and charged at the Sith Master. The strength and speed of the first three strikes caught the Sith off guard while the last strikes successfully hacked off her left leg and arm. Zarick approached the injured Sith Master to deliver the finish. Without further delay, she fired lightning at him whilst tossing him over the precipice into the depths of the forest below. The Force guided him on his long descent.

Twilight drew near. Wary of the tall figure approaching him, Zajah raised his blaster. In response, the man drew his lightsaber, prompting Zajah to rethink his actions; a scuffle with a Force-user wouldn't end very well... The mysterious dark-haired man sensed doubt growing in Zajah, questioning whether he was completely devout to the Empire. They conversed on the Empire's reputation, its predominant origin, and its goal of bringing Sith rule to the galaxy. He asked whether the Stormtrooper wanted to remain a pawn in a large, terrible game. With a willful expression and a new perspective, Zajah discarded his Stormtrooper armor and credentials.
Nightfall drew near. Five hours passed since Zarick lied, burned and unconscious, on a cold trail under the trees. When awakening, he spotted a tall figure within the distance ahead of the abandoned trail. Zarick grasped at his utility belt for his lightsaber to signal the stranger but found nothing; the Sith Master he previously faced disarmed him of it. However, he made use of an emergency flare and managed to alert the stranger. The two talked awhile, almost too casually, and a plan was in order. Zarick was carefully lifted aboard the man's ship that set course into the Unknown Regions, and they touched down on a mysterious planet. It seemed not a single person was in sight. The stranger left a short while and came back with a medical capsule with which he rushed Zarick to a medical facility. The medical center was empty as well. The stranger examined the patient's injuries, wiped away the blood thoroughly, and placed him into a healing tank. An hour and a half later, the rescuer drained the tank, helped him out, and claimed to be a Knight of the Potentium Order. He escorted Zarick to a meditation spot atop a large hill where other residents sat in discussion. He met Master Flint Mokeev, Magister Salene Lusch, and Potentium Knight Toad Freck for the first time.

Life on Zonama Sekot was an opportunity for Zarick to continue his training and unlock his potential in the Force. Toad Freck selected him as an apprentice and taught him the disciplines of the Potentium Code. Zarick faced a timeless series of trials as an apprentice, his most cherished experience, and reached knighthood before least expecting it. He left Zonama some time after and sought Onderon after receiving a transmission frm his father, and the two agreed to meet near their old home. Zarick encountered his younger brother Gourah on the way there. The three reunited once again, reminiscing over each other's recent exploits and telling of current ones.

The two talked awhile and seemed unusually calm despite their odd encounter, and a plan was in order. Zajah followed the man to his ship, setting a course into the Unknown Regions. They touched down on a mysterious planet, but it seemed not one person was in sight. The stranger brought Zajah to the medical faciity where he was tended to by the kindhearted Amaran healer Nina. The rescuer claimed they were knights of the Potentium Order. He then escorted Zajah to a spot atop a large hill where other residents sat in discussion. There, he met Master Flint Mokeev, Magister Salene Lusch, and Potentium Knight Toad Freck for the first time.
Zarick experienced a countless series of events in the Potentium Order, most of which were too extensive to document altogether. The council masters assigned him missions alongside powerful allies such as Potentium Master Ford Potez, Potentium Knight Cobalt Ra'ann, Potentium Master Nina, and others.

The Sith
Zarick encountered the Sith numerous times as a Potentium Knight. The Crimson Blade Sith Order swayed Zarick's cousin, Allen Stonesoul, to darkness and pitted the two against each another. Zarick, accompanied by Daniel Morosun, sought to turn Stonesoul away from the dark side but did so without succession.

Allen defeated Zarick upon their first duel but nearly fell during the second with Morosun joining the fight. The third time, however, Allen held back and tried to sway Zarick to the Sith ideology using mind control during a pause. It didn't phase him; he had spent a great deal training ever since their first duel. Allen lost his composure over this and shot waves of lightning at him. Zarick redirected the waves with little effort and struck down the arrogant Sith at last.

Life on Zonama Sekot was an opportunity for Zajah to continue his training and unlock his potential in the Force. Toad Freck chose him as an apprentice and taught him the disciplines of the Potentium Code. He faced a timeless series of trials as an apprentice, one of his most cherished experiences. After Toad's demise at the hands of the Sith, a large Rutian Twi'lek known as Gram took him on as an apprentice, teaching him dynamic swordsmanship and strength conditioning. Za eventually reached knighthood thanks to his receptive peers and self-determination. He left Zonama some time after and sought Onderon after receiving a transmission from his father, and the two agreed to meet near their old home. He encountered his younger brother Gourah on the way there, and all three were soon reunited.
Zarick approached the injured Sith not to deliver the death blow, but to save him. Unbeknown to both fighters, Allen's master watched the duel from beginning to end. The man applauded Zarick's performance, kneeling down to retrieve his beaten apprentice. He stated, "I will take him back and finish this myself." Zarick objected and chased the Sith all the way back to Jaratenge. He arrived to a temple occupied by a dozen robed figures. The promise was fulfilled and Allen Stonesoul was ritually excuted much to Zarick's displeasure. The temple master spotted him just outside the entrance and sounded the alarms. Zarick made a hasty withdraw back to Zonama Sekot with a heavy heart.

Conflicts
The People's Galactic Alliance
  +
Zajah encountered many entities frequently as a Potentium Knight. Alongside Potentium Master Nina and Master Hanumi, they pursued Sith and an elusive group known simply as "Chaos". Due to Han's status and ample power in the Force, Han was abducted by Chaos and taken for experimentation, prompting Za and Nina to desperately pursue them. Their course took them across the Outer Rim to Nar Kreeta. They took on a group of the cybernetic-enhanced beings of Chaos, utilizing all that they learned to free Han from his captivity. They managed to rescue him after a laborious struggle and brought him back to Sekot. However, Han was badly injured, Za leaving Han in Nina's proficient care and resuming his training.
The Revenant Armada, operating under Sith influence, made swift progress in gaining influence throughout the Galactic Core. The People's Galactic Alliance, formerly the Republic Liberation Forces, vowed to defend all peoples in the face of this looming threat, in addition to the Galactic Empire and the Imperial Remnant. Promising volunteers, one after another, stepped forth to fight for the Republic. One of these hopefuls was Zarick Adar. In his knighthood on Zonama, Zarick overheard the countless exploits of the PGA and its forefather, Selkisto Horten. {C

While on a visit to see his father at Bakura, the stories he heard were confirmed. A violent skirmish between several Revenant troops and five PGAF Marines erupted on the street. Zarick and his father, former Commander of the Bakuran Royal Guard, took part in the conflict. They witnessed the valiant Marines' offense against Revenant troops attempting to infiltrate the royal palace. The five Marines executed adroit maneuvers in correspondence to one another and brought down the enemy without a single casualty. Zarick, taken by inspiration, sought involvement in the Republic. He left Zonama Sekot and headed off armed with knowledge from his past services. Within time, he was interviewed by PGAF Recruiter Gene Vaniva and underwent basic training for two months. As a sentinel of Nova Squad, he took part in risky operations on Alaris Prime and Nar Shaddaa to thwart Revenant intelligence. Despite rumor of the PGA's collapse, Zarick continued service and acknowledged the entity as a federally-maintained army on the few planets still part of the alliance, such as Talus and Coruscant. On another note, he became an intimate companion with a mysterious woman during his service, named Yunami Niceru, an Empire defector who chose to fight for the Republic. The two bonded to the point of romance, however, their time together was cut short when Yunami disappeared for some time.

Personality
Zarick was a serene young man and a genuine ally who stood by his principles without dissuasion. His average activities included crafting gadgets, reading, training, and meditating in solitude over the events experienced throughout the day. Opposing his calm and collected nature was his cold attitude toward Mandalorians, generally because he claimed the mainstream were "a bunch of misfits."

Yuuzhan Vong War
  +
The fearsome Yuuzhan Vong made swift progress over the course of two years gaining control of their once claimed territory. Zajah and his fellow knights vowed to defend the planet at all costs. However, because of the proficiency of the Yuuzhan Vong's organic constructs, major operations against them proved the most trying of tasks. Armed with the knowledge of his past services, Za took up risky operations to thwart the Yuuzhan Vong. Ultimately, he and his fellow knights, along with the council masters and the living will of Sekot, put a halt to the Yuuzhan Vong and their violent overthrow of the planet. In a measure to protect its inhabitants, Zonama Sekot used its hyperdrives to migrate to an isolated location within the Unknown Regions.

Brave New Galaxy
Zarick stood at an average height and appeared muscular due to years of exercise in the military. His hair was a grayish shade of black, his skin tone was dark, little facial hair grew around his jaw, and a thick scar extended across his left cheek. The most unusual feature were Zarick's eyes, which supposedly allowed him to see into the infrared spectrum on account of his Arkanian ancestry. His wardrobe included a variety of clothing while his main outfit consisted of a white tracker utility vest with a black nametag, a black zipped jacket underneath, white pants, and a pair of standard black boots. He also wore a silver armband on his right forearm bearing the Potentium symbol.

  +
After the unnerving waves of violence and destruction subsided between the Yuuzhan Vong and Zonama, Zajah was heavily disenchanted. He bid his beloved comrades goodbye and left Zonama Sekot, given special navigational coordinates from close friend and knight Cobalt. On Onderon, he got by as a vehicular technician, rekindling worn-out repulsorlift vehicles until they were almost mistaken for brand new and selling them for reasonable prices. Great opportunity sprang when he met with his grandfather and learned of his roaring success as a miner on Adascopolis, Arkania. He and his grandfather regularly linked up on Adascopolis to conduct excavations. The minerals they uncovered in the tunnels ranged from carvanium to pure diamond, which were common findings but of course maintained their commercial values.

  +
During one extraction under the eastern Adascopolis tunnels, one of the excavators began experiencing failure; the droid overheated as it drilled through layer upon layer of thick crust, and once it reached its final limit, it exploded and set off a dangerous reaction with the nitrogen gas lingering within the tunnels. The blast killed several miners within range. He and his grandfather were saved and treated by a mysterious Togruta known as Xak afterward. Zajah did not set foot on Adascopolis again.
Abilities
Zarick repaired AI technology and standard vehicles at a decent level based on his studies at Iziz Technical Academy. He was a natural fighter on account of military training and has used life-saving survival methods in the cruelest of trials, especially during bouts as an Imperial Pilot and a PGAF Marine. Time as a Potentium follower strengthened his Force power, training under experienced masters known as Toad Freck, Salene Lusch, Flint Mokeev, Susallia Arida, Master Nina, and Christopher Beck. Zarick also spoke and wrote well in other languages such as Huttese, Arkanian, and Durese.

  +
He then received news of his father's death after recovering and visiting his childhood home on Onderon; his ship was inexplicably gunned down by outlaws in the Outer Rim and sent crashing to a nearby planet. He was grief-stricken, but eventually recovered after finding and reuniting with Gram on Onderon. Together, they eventually formed a small team of familiar and new faces. They commandeered a freighter passed down to the Twi'lek, traversing the galaxy in search of greater opportunity and new adventure.

Personality and traits
  +
Zajah is usually coolheaded and tranquil. Though a man of few words, he stands by his principles without dissuasion and usually takes a practical approach to problems, letting logic play the melody of truth. Opposing his tranquil nature is his cold bias toward Mandalorians, claiming most were "brutes hiding in shells." The Sith and Yuuzhan Vong also became an object of his malice during the conflicts on Zonama.
Zarick mostly carried a survival kit while some items became sentimental keepsakes. His pack contained a custom single-hilted lightsaber, a Velmoran energy sword, a standard issue MB2-A2 blaster rifle, a standard issue DL-2000 blaster pistol, batteries, four pouches, a comlink, a datapad, a Potentium badge, an I.D. card, a dark-blue crystal, a sage-green crystal, and a canteen.

  +
Zajah is a Near-Human of average height and an athletic physique due to years of training. His hair is black and his skin tone is dark. The most unusual trait are his eyes, which seemingly allow him to see into the infrared spectrum due to his Arkanian ancestry. His wardrobe includes a variety of clothing while his usual outfit is a blue short-sleeved garment, a utility belt, dark pants, and a pair of black boots.

Weaknesses
Zarick's hereditary weakness was his eyes. They were extremely sensitive to intense heat or light and forced him to don a blinder at times. He was also allergic to spice and Sagebrush and would catch a severe case of hives after close contact. His other weakness was his left arm, which was mangled during his service in the war against the Revenant Armada. The arm ultimately hindered his ambidexterity and was protected by a white brace at times.

Trivia
- The player's SL username, "Savage7Rick," is a direct reference to Zarick's membership in the "Savages" on Yavin IV.

Zajah Adetera is a Near-Human raised on Onderon. He is a knight and a pilot of the Potentium Fighter Squadron on Zonama Sekot and a former serviceman of the Imperial Navy. He trained within the Potentium Order and adopted their philosophy, extensively carrying out assignments to defend the planet from outside and inside peril.

History

Onderon

Mother

Imperial Undertaking

SL - Bakuran Guard 001 001

Ghomjah Adetera, father of Zajah and former Commander of the Bakuran Royal Guard.

A few years of basic training served him well within the Imperial Military. He proved to be an exceptional pilot, which the stern Admiral Adrian Ganton occasionally applauded him for. Admiral Ganton was a battle-hardened workaholic who lead his squadron on deadly operations against pirates lingering near Imperial-protected worlds, and overtime, the pirates doubled in number. Zajah and the fleet were bombarded by Black Sun Pirates on one fateful operation. He was fortunate enough to survive among explosions and rains of blaster fire. As the battle continued, Zajah drifted while attempting to repair his TIE Oppressor's engine before the pirates could locate him. Repairs were a minor success, and he drifted away in regard of his own life to Yavin IV. Before the locals could find his crashed ship, a strange wanderer recognized his Stormtrooper armor, slowly approaching him.

The Potentium

Conflicts

Yuuzhan Vong War

Return

Brave New Galaxy

Zajah is usually coolheaded and tranquil. Though a man of few words, he stands by his principles without dissuasion and usually takes a practical approach to problems, letting logic play the melody of truth. Opposing his tranquil nature is his cold bias toward Mandalorians, claiming most were "brutes hiding in shells." The Sith and Yuuzhan Vong also became an object of his malice during the conflicts on Zonama.
