Treasure Ships were large ships employed primarily during the Expansionist Period. Operating during times of peace and prosperity, large Treasure Ships would ply the core worlds, carrying luxury goods.
Essentially floating Palaces, these luxury ships would cater to an upper class clientele as well as the nobility of several planetary Royal Houses. While this tradition would be revived in the current era, these contemporary ships sadly lack the ambience of their forebears, presenting a worn and even decrepit appearance.
The revival of these ships has been quite limited, owing to the generally lawless conditions in the galaxy and the constant threat of piracy and brigandage. Several Trade expeditions to the Naboo luxury city of Keren have been known to employ large Treasure Ships.
