Personality[]

"You think yourself an equal. How very precious."

An affable and polite woman, fashionable and often theatrical who happens to be one of the most influential crime lords of history's showing, with a habit of speaking in third person, with a nearly unrivalled hobby of womanising.

Verne is the eccentric leader of Imperious, an organization in which has gone as far as to vouch for entire planetary systems and major cities in the past. In present days, they retain their old reputation of immoral desires, yet wish a hold over the galaxy no other syndicate would dare equal.

One with few concerns for the mortal world, further losing sensitivity as time furthers, humanity only kept intact by her elegant worded lust.

Verne herself often indulges in much of what she does as a form of self-punishment, albeit indirectly. Part of her thrives upon being a malicious entity, while part holds disdain for herself because of it.

Verne is terribly insecure with herself, if one is unaware of what she's accomplished or unimpressed with what she's done, depending upon how its done the criminal may fall into a depression or rage, and immediately take to galactic affairs to do something noteworthy. Not out of the need to prove anything to that individual, but rather assure her own being that she is indeed everything she's been painted to be by the media and victims.

Verne finds public displays of affection beyond simple lust repulsive and may again fall into a depression upon seeing such, both due to the focus not being upon her and surfacing of memories.

Verne's obsession with cleanliness and eloquence stem both from training in a military setting at one point, and believing herself to be above the general populace.

Verne is something of a megalomaniac. Her success and fortune over her many years of activity can't be denied, but her own ego inflates her own self worth to that of being equally as important as life itself. She will find symbolism in things not meant to have it, if only to further her own standing in the eyes of eloquence.

Her own motivations are complex, and even she doesn't often know what to do with them upon completion of a large goal. She often indulges in carnal desires, proclaiming herself to be both chaos and lust incarnate on many occasions.

Much of her instability and even her egotism stem from earlier life trauma, unknown to most alive in the present age.

If she speaks her first name while referring to herself, it may lead to something terrifying for whomever unfortunate enough to scorn her.

Relationships[]

Verne often has a demeaning and sarcastic personality, viewing most as little beyond pests or lessers. However, there's a few anomalies among her demeanor, which will be listed below.

Sparrow Valdis - The notoriety eventually began to view Sparrow/Echo as something of a daughter, often berating the girl for life choices she herself doesn't agree with. Most notably, the girl's attachments, which Verne had viewed as nothing but a weakness. As harsh as she tends to be however, most of the time her own intentions have tried to be in the best interest of the young and aspiring 'protege'.

Jay - The most notable rival and the 'opposite side of the same coin', Verne has something of an obsession with the felacatian. Hardly romantic, she just wishes to prove to the man that the galaxy is as horrid as the views it, and hopes to some day 'break' him into viewing it as she does.

Lady Ciera - Verne's previous love interest, whom had a falling out with Verne, nearly breaking her mind for a second time in the process.

White Coy - Verne's private and personal guard, she is the head of the Blade units, an elite group of mostly cybernetic guards personalized to utilize their own talents.. While seeping away their humanity in the process. Verne views her as an important asset, if anything.

Shaka the Hutt - One of the original 'learners' of the notoriety's antics, Shaka and Verne have had a rocky relationship for an age. She continuously tries to usurp the cartels given the chance, sometimes even succeeding for a time.. But Shaka appears to hold no grudges, so the pair continue to associate despite the previous.

Kabriel Le'sanit - During the Baron's reign over the dunes and subsequent war with the Council, Verne learned much from the man's own antics. During her entire career, only has Verne viewed Kabriel as something of an equal, the rest viewed as 'lessers' and meaningless.

Alex Kardel - Another rival of the notoriety, Kardel was a wild card and Verne was an orderly one. Polar opposites within the criminal world, when they worked together they could wreak a havoc nearly like no other.. But they rarely did work together, instead far too opposite to ever truly get along.

Jes'tula Tor'dok - The proclaimed Pirate Lord and Verne have had a rocky relationship too, originally she having vouched for him to spare his life via the Councils.. And they only took a lekku instead. She views him as crude, crass, but acknowledges his own usefulness which keeps the two upon relatively good terms.

Keshani Liana - Perhaps the first 'friend' Verne had ever had in her life, the two have a very rough history. Every time the notoriety proclaimed her own divinity, it usually forces the two into another rut of a relationship, even minor rivalries upon occasion.

Tiro the Hutt - One of the first business partners Verne ever had at the start of her criminal career, Tiro and Verne have an interesting relationship. Originally their first major deal was to dispose of Gethen behind the Council's back, and to drive the Black Sun out of Mos Entha. Since such, they've continued to associate and deal behind the Council's back to further gain each other's motivations.

Nex Arwind - An old associate of Verne's, she considers Nex reckless and without grace. With that said, she still works with him quite frequently, utilizing his organization to avoid the repercussion on her own person. Usually in exchange for hefty funding, though.

Talia Kristan-Seda - Verne formed an unlikely partnership with the queen, in exchange for nobility she would extend the reach of the Monarchy to Vorzyd V. This was agreed upon, and Verne views the queen with a degree of respect... But knows that with her own natural ambition, a troubling road is of course in the future.

Jill - A slave Verne purchased from Nex's crew, Verne often indulges with the woman carnally, and continues to send her upon missions of assassinations and so forth.

Tekisui - Another rival of Verne's, the two have a history of battling and fighting whenever necessary. With her position as a countess, this makes their rivalry difficult to continue... But it's endured anyway.

Background[]

Born in a station orbiting Coruscant without being part of her parent's plan, Verne often had to fend for herself during years growing up as a lower city citizen of the massive city. When this was is also a mystery, specifics of birth records seemingly mixed and changed quite often to suit her own needs through bribery and extortion.

Much of Verne's history is an enigma. She seemed to have surface in the city of Mos Entha and rise to power after feuds with various Hutts and other criminal syndicates. Before that, none are even aware of this woman's existence. Mostly had she run seclusive and obscure clubs with a certain Jawa, and later in life a lannick named Selgath.

The only thing known of Verne's past is that she has been active within activities for some time, and ages at a rather odd rate in the end of things. Some present day Hutts of moderate age for their species have seemingly witnessed the crime lord work her way up and over the ranks many times without so much as a greying hair in the process, albeit at other times does it seem far greyer than usual.

Imperious[]

As her influence grew, Verne based herself and her operations out of the city of Mos Entha. She set up a criminal cartel with her partner, Selgath, and they began to start with simple slaving and mercenary work on a very small and trivial scale. As time went on, operations began to expand, and thousands of credits became tens of thousands, and multiplied further and further. Soon, they nearly vouched for the entirety of the city.

Tiro the Hutt was a notable ally throughout this conflict, and also a power over much of Tatooine that future hostilities would soon seek to exploit. Verne's first advisor role was of that to his clan, often being a political mind even in the most infancy of her career.

Times lasted not long before other opposing forces began to move in, including various GSU allies such as the Black Sun and Bloodtalon. A subtle peace lasted for mere weeks before hostilities began.

War with the Black Sun[]

As Imperious now vouched for much of Tatooine, and wasn't exactly a combat organization by any means, the Black Sun had moved in under the command of Kabriel Le'sanit, and soon demanded obedience from this faction. Selgath was indifferent, and was far too busy indulging himself on the new space station to really care about the demands, but Verne herself took a more direct approach. She allied herself with the remnants of the Zann Consortium, and began a war across the galaxy with the Black Sun, driving them back and eventually out of the city itself. Le'sanit himself had feigned death during this war, so the advantage and tide was quickly turned into Imperious's favour. Without a capable leader the Black Sun fell into shambles, re-organizing their ranks so very often.

The Zann Consortium itself, no longer exactly required, seemed to scatter about and go unheard from by many. Verne herself no longer had any use for them, so she cut all ties and contact with the organization, and did not look back since.

War with the NTF - Formation of the NHA[]

Selgath became more and more distant, and Verne more and more prominent within the underworld. She was a political powerhouse at this point, and many could see it. Dralshy'a became a close ally, and a new threat began to threaten Tatooine around this exact time ; The New Trade Federation.

Led by Drake Wade and Black Sun remnants, many sought simple revenge over the last war. Others demanded that Verne and Tiro, the local Hutt within Mos Entha, join their galactic charter of planets and allies. They mounted raid after raid upon Imperious operations, and Verne herself was brought to the point of utter defeat on more than one occasion. But, Ne'tra Dralshy'a suggested a cure for this ; The formation of an organization that would span the galaxy. Mandalorians, Imperious, and the Hutt Cartel. This was the start of the Nal Hutta Alliance.

Soon, they expanded from Entha, and onto Bothawui.. A very large step for Imperious, having only ever been based within the outer rim before. The Hutt Cartels were also extremely pleased with this, and Verne was now one of the leading powers within the galaxy, and the war with the NTF was over due to the sheer political power she had gained.

Disorganization of the NHA, and formation of the Pirate Council[]

Her power reigning as one of the three leaders of the NHA was indeed short lived, with the sudden disappearance of many of the droid forces it once possessed, and Dralshy'a becoming uninterested.

During it's latter days. Verne hunted down a lone pirate named Jest'ula Tor'dok, who was one self proclaimed Pirate Lord. At the time, she thought him nothing but one with an undeserved ego. Upon closer inspection, she felt the same, yet he was absolutely fun to have around. The NHA had hunted him down for some fiasco he had caused with blowing up hutt cargo,[1] and Verne used her position of power to lower his sentence from death to a simple fine. It was maybe this reason that she was allowed a position on his Pirate Council, or maybe he found her equally as fun. She simply took the title lightly, and began to focus on expanding Imperious moreso than the NHA.

Sure enough, like clockwork, the NHA soon began to fade. Darmutta demanded that Verne 'fix' the situation,[2] and Verne simply shrugged it off as nothing. Imperious was now to be groomed.

Expansion to Ord Mantell, and Start of Decay, and Destruction of the Teal Masquerade[]

Verne had been wanting more and more ever since she had expanded to Bothawui, which was very short lived. Soon, operations had moved once again, this time to the planet of Ord Mantell.[3] Imperious was large enough to vouch for many operations on the planet's surface at this point, and Verne herself became more distant with reality.

She became something of a collector, expanding her once small array of relics with a now vast and impressive display of Jedi and Sith artefacts. Verne's own mind drifted further into the realm of both dramatics and elegance, as her egotism increased tenfold since her original starting day in the underworld. She still retained her political genius, yet now she believed herself to be 'chaos incarnate', as said on many occasions.

Her relations with many factions strengthened, as did her boldness in several acts. She openly slew a Hutt Council member for his own arrogance,[4] she sent enforcers to threaten many who would verbally wrong her, and her very appearance began to gradually change into that of one losing touch with morality and sanity.

Over the planet in which Imperious now had a nearly iron grip over, a feigned party was hosted simply so Verne could have an audience for her mass scale galactic destruction. Verne attempted to usher in a golden age of chaos and discord upon the galaxy, and openly tried to kill several figureheads of the galaxy upon their open disdain for her act, including Shaka the Hutt, the current Vice Chancellor of the Republic, Angelique Black of the Trayus Academy, and Alex Kardel. By detonating several explosions across the galaxy in a display to further enhance her own ego, and try to force chaos as a dominating force on otherwise tranquil planets, Verne had effectively caused her own downfall in the process.[5]

Temporary Exile[]

After her defeat at the hands of Kardel and Black, Verne suffered wounds beyond that of what many could survive. Only due to the power emitting from the nexus in her office had she mustered enough strength to keep her body together. In an act of what she deemed strategic, Verne retreated to the unknown portions of space to simply wait out the storm she had previously caused.

It was during her exile that Verne came to the conclusion that during her return, she would require some sort of disguise, and began to craft herself a mask out of crude materials as best she could, yet did so in a way to design it of what she thought was 'elegant'.

Now donning a new mask and attire to blend somewhat in, Verne wandered the galaxy for over a month before becoming impatient, and desiring the only thing in which she deemed was her link to humanity; Unrivalled lust.

Formation of a Fleet/Rebuilding[]

As Verne resurfaced to the galaxy, her crime were hardly forgotten by all. While the underworld may have been understanding of the need for chaos as an art, and appreciative of her devious mindset, Zeltros in particular found need to prosecute Verne for her wrongdoings.[6] However, the trial itself ended surprisingly to most, in Verne's favour, both due to a miraculous pardon seemingly dismissing her Republic crimes, and the judge simply finding not enough evidence to support crimes via Zeltros itself. It was highly rumoured that the trial itself was without a doubt rigged within the crime lord's favouring.

After having problems blown over from previous endeavours, Verne focused on a new approach. She began to gather information, while silently using the remainder of her resources in which she retained from her downfall, to acquire a fleet of her own as she did during her rather tyrannical control over a portion of Ord Mantell. The purpose of such a fleet wouldn't serve as protectors, but rather eventual destroyers, and puppets used to instigate problems between others upon a floor in which Verne could watch knowingly. However, the time this would take would be substantial, and even she didn't have the required funds to compete with a powerhouse such as a renowned empire. Such would indeed take thought and time.

Expansion to Nar Shaddaa, dealing with loose ends[]

As Verne's own resources grew to exponential levels that so very few could dream to rival, she began her inevitable expansion to the hutt moon of Nar Shaddaa, setting up various locations both for political and monetary gain.

As advisor to the Hutt cartels, her presence became quite noted and required, usually flowing smoothly with an odd comment from the notoriety, and patience for Hutt ruling. However, the courts didn't always flow as smoothly, as seen when a group of Jedi crashed the memorable Hutt head statue through the surface of the casino during the proceedings of court.[7] This specific incident set the underworld into a partial disarray, with Verne herself feeling moderately responsible for not foreseeing much of what had specifically happened.

In her rather irritated state from prior events, the crime lord began to hire mercenaries of all sort, including factions such as the Death Watch, Bounty Hunter's Guild, and even her own personal assassin droid. It was inevitable that some form of success was to come of this, with so many now upon the job purely to 'clean' the state of affairs, as Verne herself put it. It was fortunate for the notoriety that Keshani Liana, one of the targets, was the first to be hit, as this would then hopefully lure out the others in which she sought.[8]

Hardly was that the end of anything. Only did this enthuse the attackers to further their efforts and attract other sorts to leap into the battle of good vs graciously evil. Verne suggested a weapons check upon the door,[9] to prevent Jedi and Sith from easily attacking the Council every week. This lead to another problem.

Force hounds/Ulterior motives[]

"I'm in control, now. Those who will not bend, will break under my whim." ~ Verne, in regards to her newly proclaimed regime.

Obey-Verne

One of the many posters circulating around the new regime's time.

Verne herself had understood a revelation. As disdainful for the Council she may be underneath a skin of feigned kindness, still were they capable of giving her a portion of what she desired... everything. Under the guise of one who simply sought to increase security in times of need, under her complete authority. Verne had begun shipments of vornskr into Hutt space in numbers of bulk. Not long after this began had a Sith by the name of Darth Infestus shown up to a specific night of held courts, and proposed modifying certain beasts for the hutts. Verne immediately saw opportunity, but to avoid any need for concern, she had waited for Shaka to propose the idea of modifying Verne's beasts.[10] A small war upon the surface of the moon had begun between Verne's metal grip upon certain sectors, most notably to take out the GLA. Many battles were fought upon the moon, now. A raid upon Verne's office twice at the hands of Tekisui, Scarlett Vuur, and an unidentified Jedi. Every attack served to further Verne's political goal, further the need for more increases in security until she had exuded the same level of fear as she had years prior with the several explosives.

Verne eventually feigned a surrender to these jedi, a trap probably suspected and confirmed when Verne kicked a held blaster via Tekisui with metal boot. She had allowed herself to be cuffed even so, making a mad dash amplified by speed over to a nearby docking door. Behind had several droids, vornskrs, and Darth Veka.[11] The result of the battle was in her own favour, capturing two of the jedi and severely wounding the rest.

It wasn't long before Verne's plan came into full effect, the security stationed upon the world had paved way to her own complete control, and what was a secret plan was publically announced in the face of the cartels for all to hear. There was little the hutts themselves could have done at that specific time, so Verne's control over the moon became absolute for the coming months. Hounds and droids ensuring her power remained absolute, she came to rely upon these two things beyond any reliance she'd ever had on anything before.

After months of control, eventually an emergency command issued by the previous 'Hundred Hands' and the previous Kabriel Le'sanit's emergency shutdown codes issued her droids useless for mere moments, and in those moments the GLA led an attack upon Verne's own secluded spire. As the Jedi made past heavy security including White Coy, Verne stood atop the peak level of the spire, waiting for the Jedi. It turned into something of a duel with her 'rival' Jay of the GLA, as the other Jedi prepared a tactic to simply cut the notoriety off from the force, granting that moment needed to overcome her. And it worked, soon the end of that regime came about as she was taken into custody for the coming months.

Expansion to Vorzyd V/Life without the Force[]

Nothing lasted forever. As she remain in custody with strained muscles, crippled from overexertion of her own implants.. Many took it upon themselves to eventually free the notoriety, including a select few of the Mandalorian 'Cabur', and their own strike team. The rescue managed to work but a few months into captivity, and while crippled, she eventually began an extensive and unbelievable expensive cybernetic bodily reconstruction. Verne would soon live a seclusive life via her own capital cruiser, only occasionally meeting necessary parties as she secured her next plan. Throughout this seclusion, she began an in depth relationship with Lady Ciera, giving her a stupendous life change into the realm of monogamy.. Something she never thought would be possible, considering her womanizing career previously.

It wasn't too long before she set her sights to an outer rim world known as Vorzyd V, Imperious operations expanding there rather quickly after primarily pulling out of hutt space other than the occasional intel plant.

The relationship lasted shortly though, and she reverted back to her usual ways of promiscuity. Verne would soon be proclaimed Countess of the Bakuran Monarchy, untrusted by the Republic but even still plotting in secret to return herself to that light of infamy and glory.

Powers/Abilities/Equipment[]

"This is beyond evolution. Technology has granted me ascension."

Verne prefers finesse and grace in her combat style to the crude usage of blunt attacks. She has been known to rarely resort to such by swinging a metal gauntlet, or when provoked to a stage one could only describe as primal and destructive. A master swordsman in this day and age, Verne used to be something of a sorcerer prior to her run-in with the Liberation Alliance, at the climax of her own regime over the moon. Combined efforts of the Jedi soon saw that she was rendered unable to connect to the force ever again, crippling some of her more lethal combative abilities.

Often seen in light armourweave to ensure her dexterity can be fully utilized, the criminal's personal protection looks to have been a spent a fortune upon. Many pieces of tech and varying blades, each looking to be custom design or work, the notoriety's wealth has notably come into effect during personal protection just as it has her leisure.

While it initially hindered the criminal's adaptation, her utilization of tech among her employees had always been popular. So Verne soon implanted herself with said tech as well, including the following.

Increased Reflex Implants
The notoriety had implanted herself with implants ensuring she moved at an unreal level of speed, nigh inhuman for one incapable of connecting to the force. This can be stressed to the point of tearing her own muscles, but she does usually use them in moderation.
Strength Implants
Verne's additional tech ensured that she is as strong as her muscles physically allow, for her size. Easily doubling the amount of strength when utilized, but at the risk of tearing her muscles even worse than the reflex implants could ever hope to, the crime lord -has- to use this in moderation lest she wish become crippled permanently.
Pain Suppressor Implants
The notoriety has implanted herself with the ability to 'turn off' pain for a short duration, numbing her nerves to the point where her endurance is highly above normal. Of course, the risk being that she could potentially damage herself to the point of irrepair without realizing it.
Manipulation/Deception
Easily the greatest threat Verne can ever hope to possess is her devilish and seductive demeanor, a lulling voice in which always seems to promise the nicest of things, with so often an ulterior motive behind it all. One may note her voice too, is almost inhuman at times, without any real reason just as to why.. Or how.
Magnetized Gauntlets
In an attempt to mirror the effects of telekinesis, Verne and the Imperious Research Team had unlocked a moderate degree of utilization of magnetism, mirroring the effects of force pull/push on certain objects.
