Daria Blackadder, also known under her Krath title Darth Vitia was a female Arkanian, Krath High Priestess, Tetan Noble and scientific genius.

Biography[]

Child prodigy and early heiress[]

"You, my child, derive from a most distinguished dynasty. You may fail my expectations but you shall never fail your heritage."

— Count Lucien to his daughter on her sixth birthday

Born into a Tetan Noble Family, she grew up in an unloving surrounding raised by droids mostly to which she feels aligned since. Her father, Lucien XXIII. Count of Blackadder, a well-known scientist as well as diplomat, was secretly involved in rebuilding the ancient sect of the Krath following in a loose acquaintance to actual practitioners of Sith sorcery. However it seemed that he was killed during an experiment at the family seat on Koros Minor in 203 ABY. Though there were still rumors of people who believed to have met him after his presumed death, Daria took over the family tenure as countess at the age of seventeen. Inheriting an immense wealth offered her the possibility to take up extended studies at the University of Coruscant and, over the course of ten years, she passed with distinction in many different disciplines such as medicine, sentientology, galactic history and archaeology. She was also known for her interest in fine arts and used to be a skilled Nalargonplayer around that time.

Military and scientific career[]

"Against a tenacious enemy, this young commodore bequeathed a legacy of combat leadership to future generations of Imperial officers."

— Quote from an article about Countess Blackadders conduct during a campaign against a fleet of Space Pirates.

With such a broad range of skills and knowledge she appeared to be destined for a shining career ahead of her, yet soon after finishing her studies a slight melancholy befell the young countess, resulting in an obsessive research phase on her family’s history, during which she discovered some of the well hidden secrets of her father and she learned about his involvement in the secret society of the Krath which around that time was widely considered to be a myth.

At the age of 28 (214 ABY) she joined the Tetan Empire Science Corps and ascended rather quickly to the rank of a Commodore - mostly due to a certain habit of the Empire to grant its nobility prestigious ranks with little effort; a fact that made her question her social background more and more.  Following an expedition to Ziost she started to show interest in all kinds of Sith artifacts, which she began to catalogand write articles about for the new edition of the Encyclopedia Galactica published by TriPlanetary Press, therefore gaining a widespread reputation as an expert in ancient Sith culture but also unknowingly drawing the attention of forces long forgotten and hidden within the distant realms of the Sith space.

As the renowned scientist she was she discovered her own force-sensitivity relatively late on her own and came to the fateful conclusion that she would be able to teach herself in the ways of the force. While keeping her abilities hidden from her surrounding she delved deeper and deeper into her studies of Sith Sorcery and Force Alchemy. Cautiously taking care that she won’t be consumed by the Dark Side she focused mostly on theoretical and cultural aspects of the Sith but nevertheless had to realize that the continuation of her studies, albeit kept secret, wasn't compatible with the duties and the lifestyle of her public persona anymore. Especially the superficiality of her less ambiguous noble peers disgusted her - a fact she increasingly failed to cover up when attending public matters.

In 218 ABY she consequentially arranged for the family business as well as the administration of Koros Minor to be taken care of by a trusted confidant of her fathers, Verun Leemp and took residence on Coruscant where she proceeded her studies under a new identity.

Initiation to the Dark Ancients[]

"The order is based on placing itself as the primary manipulator of galactic affairs...we exist to take hold of the entire galaxy under our will, whether it knows it servesus or not..."

— Quote from the Code of the Ancients

In 228 ABY, during another expedition to Ziost a Speeder bike accident lead to a partial amnesia and she roamed the dark forests of Ziost without aim while being constantly threatened by wild beasts which surrounded her but did not attack her. It was then that she encountered a dark dressed Lannik, who introduced himself as Darth Nagual to her. Believing to be a Sith herself in her confused state of mind the old Dark Jedi took care of her, not without checking for her force-sensitivity though. Making use of her amnesia he lured her into leaving Ziost with him and travel to the secret base of his Order which was the temple of Non, located on Fresia. Here she began to study the ways of the Krath under Lord Nagual, becoming his Secret Apprentice. The first weeks under Nagual's strict schedule were quite demanding, physically and mentally. It didn't help that Nagual's actual Apprentice at the time, Yalin, despised her and never hesitated to display this attitude. However after intense sessions of lightsaber-training with Nagual, she was able to overcome Yalin in a training match, thus gaining his respect, albeit slowly.

During her lessons at the Temple on Fresia she found the Base discontinued at most of the time which was due to the fact that the Order's leader, the Dark Lady Raven, was leading an expedition into the Unknown Regions, accompanied by many of her most battle-proven Masters and Knights, leaving leadership of the Order to the Krath Elder, Darth Infernus. When Daria first met Infernus on Telos IV he left a lasting impression on her and the wisdom and cunning he displayed influenced her own future path in more than just one way, even though Infernus would soon after she had joined leave the Order. There were also tensions between Nagual and Infernus; more often than not, Daria was able to gather knowledge from their heated discussions that was not yet meant for her ears. On one of these occasions she would learn about the Krath enemies of knowing and different approaches by past Masters to overcome them.

Guarding the temple ruins on Ziost[]

Daria Blackadder: "You may be at peace, but Ziost is not...and it is Ziost you are on."
Luvbutton Moonsoo: "Yes...I understand..."
― Daria Blackadder and Darth Dolor encountering the two Jedi Luvbutton Moonsoo and Brihan Takacs on Ziost.

As an Initiate to the Dark Ancients, Daria had to guard a ruined temple on Ziost, that had served as the Order's main base at some point in the past. As she roamed the temple's interior she uncovered a secret chamber deep below surface level where she discovered a meditation spot that emitted dark side energy. During her meditation there she had several visions and she gained a previously unknown clarity of her future path. Some time later, while on guard on Ziost, Daria alongside Darth Dolor encountered two Jedi who appeared to be spying for their Order. During her first encounter with the Jedi, Daria remained calm and focused and the situation could be resolved without resorting to unnecessary violence.

Sabotaging Telos IV and the loss of the Temple of Non[]

"It's not the cave the warrior lives in, it's how the warrior deals with living in thatcave."

— Master Nagual after the destruction of the Temple of Non by an unknown force

Following Nagual's orders, Secret Apprentice Daria performed several covert operations on Telos IV, at one time successfully sabotaging the planetary communication grid for several hours; the information she obtained in doing so was later put to use in an attempt to invade Telos IV by several Dark Side Factions which ultimately was a failure as key-strategical bases withstood the attacks. On this occasion Daria met the Warlord Darth Übel for the first time, who served as the Order's Sith Master. His ferocious combat styleimpressed her, while also realizing at this point that her own potential was of a different kind altogether. It was also the last time she ever met Übel in person, as the mighty Warlord vanished for good soon after the failed invasion.Subsequent to the failed invasion, Lord Nagual decided to apply a new strategy and made arrangements to run for the post of Galactic Senator to his homeplanet Lannik. Daria, while posing as the Senator's assistant, accompanied him on his travels during which he gathered the political support for his campaign. This lead both of them to Nar Shaddaa and other planets located in the Hutt Sector. Shortly after Nagual was indeed elected which opened new opportunities for the Order on Telos IV and new connections formed. As a result of the campaign efforts however, the Temple of Non remained largely unguarded for extensive time spans. Unknown forces took advantage of this and destroyed the Temple alongside its invaluable archives and laboratories.

The motivation and force behind the attack remained a mystery which was never solved. Above that, contact with the Dark Lady Raven had broken off for some time and she and several of the Masters and Knights who accompanied her were declared missing and presumed dead. In this critical time for the Order, Apprentice Yalin, who had risen to the rank of Knight shortly before and adopted the title Darth Scorn, betrayed Nagual and left the Order to join the Jedi on Yavin IV. Nagual, deeply disappointed and disillusioned, granted Daria the rank of Apprentice, but left to the Unknown Regions himself in order to search for traces of Dark Lady Raven.

Infiltrating the Imperial Sector on Vjun[]

"ISRO (Imperial Scientific Research Office) is a scientific research center. All are welcome in the name of science. We provide a public workbench as well as advice. Do not hesitate to contact us if you need any assistance in your current path. Thank you for your support. Long Live Lord Kestrel."

— quote from a holovid to promote the ISRO on Vjun.

Making use of her family ties to Darth Chimera, who was the ruling Countess of Vjun at that time, Daria arranged for a Secret Base on Vjun. Using the ISRO as a front, she and Dozar, who was appointed by Nagual to support her on Vjun, established themselves as scientific advisors for the Imperial Sector while secretly advancing their Order's agenda. The two would also undertake expeditions and search the barren lands of Vjun for traces of artifacts. During this time Dozar and Daria learned of a new Dark Jedi Order, The Dark Jedi Resurrection, that had been founded by Darth Sinis to preserve the legacy of Dark Lady Raven, whom he felt had granted him the leadership of the Dark Ancients during her absence. This had been disputed by Darth Nagual though and it resulted in the Order being torn apart, with Sinis' faction taking base on Ord Mantell. Daria attempted to negotiate with Sinis, but the seasoned Obelisk-Master insisted on pursuing his own interest for the time being. After a while Darth Nagual returned and the Order started to act more in the open, being allied with the Assembly of Darkness and the other Sith Orders united under the banner of the Vjun Sith Empire. Due to the freshly forged alliance with the Assembly, Daria assisted Dark Lady Chaos and other Sith during an interaction with Atticus Jetaime at the Sith Embassy on Manaan. Although a skilled combatant, Daria lost the duel with Atticus, who took out her and another apprentice at the same time. It was an embarrassing experience but Daria also learned a valuable lesson that day [1].

Knighthood and Raven's Return[]

"You are definitely Master material!"

— Lady Raven to Daria Blackadder

Having successfully solved various tasks and assignments under the guidance of Lord Nagual, Daria had at this time effectively grown out of the rank of Apprentice. But Nagual hesitated to promote her still, fearing the progression would expose her to dangers she might still not be able to overcome. Nevertheless it was time for Daria to pick an Apprentice of her own. She chose carefully and ended up with Clana’dae’nuruodo, a young and gifted Chiss, whom she had first met during her studies on Coruscant. They both shared a common interest in combining the dark arts with a more scientific approach and spent hours upon hours in conducting a multitude of experiments, but also sharpened their lightsaber skills together as often as possible. At the same time the Obelisk Knight Darth Zerafon and Lord Nagual had been following rumours of a young woman who seemed to have some connection to Lady Raven. As it turned out the Dark Lady had resurfaced as Calli Merlin, rejuvenated, albeit apparently disconnected from her memories and her dark spirit. Nagual recommended Daria to spend time with Calli and gain her trust, while the remaining Masters of the Order would figure out how to bring Raven back to her full potential. In pursuing that task Daria however befriended Calli honestly and when Nagual revealed to her the exact nature of the ritual supposed to allow for the return of the Dark Lady, Daria was put in a conflict of interest. The ritual would inevitably whipe out the person Calli but it would only work if she decided to undergo the procedure following her own free-will. Daria took it upon herself to inform Calli about these facts and ultimately won her consent. Under the close watch of Masters Sinis and Shadow, Daria was to conduct the crucial ritual which would also serve as a rite of passage for herself as well as re-unite the still split Order. She and Adaen meditated together in the days before the ritual and also made plans to secretely profit from the ritual, regardless of the outcome.

When the time came Daria initiated the ritual by evoking some of the darkest force spirits to offer their guidance. Adaen stood close by, as were Sinis and Shadow. The ritual proved especially draining for all involved, but was a success ultimately and Raven had been returned to full power, once more able and willing to shape the Galaxy's fate with the help of her Dark Ancients. Daria was elevated to the rank of Dark Jedi Knight, finally having become a Death Witch according to the traditions of the Krath. Her new name henceforth was Darth Vitia.

Following her orders, Adaen, who had also been promoted to Dark Jedi Knight by now, had secretely taken a DNA sample from Lady Raven before she had fully awoken. With this the two experimented in a cloning facility they had set up in secrecy. They combined their own DNA and merged it with Raven's, creating several clones, which they enforced by their knowledge of Sith Alchemy. Only one of the clones was strong enough to survive, but to Daria's utmost dismay this would also lead to Adaen's betraying her. He took the child and fled with it into Chiss-Space, after destroying the facility and all proof of their experiments. Daria felt great anger and despair but was also heart-broken when she realized that it was probably for the best if the child was kept out of reach of the Order.
